Khyber militants execute 4, including 2 foresters

Militants March 31 bound and executed four men, including two Forest Department officials, in Bara Tehsil, Khyber Agency, an official said April 1.

“Forest Department officials Amal Sher and Akhtar Jan were on duty at the Por Pahar area in Kalakhel when unknown militants made them hostage, while two other villagers – Nawab Khan and his son, Imtiaz – who had gone to locate them were also rounded up,” Kalakhel Political Tehsildar Javed Afridi said.

“It seems that militants had first tied up their hands ... and then sprayed them with bullets, but (we) don’t know why,” he added.

No one has claimed responsibility, but authorities suspect militant involvement.
