Nawaz Sharif backs power buy from India

LAHORE: Pakistan should buy electricity from India to overcome a crippling energy shortage if it is provided at an affordable rate, former premier Nawaz Sharif said today. "We should take this offer if India is providing electricity at an affordable rate," Sharif, the head of the main opposition PML-N party, said while interacting with reporters at Khanewal in Punjab province. Sharif said the situation today was in marked contrast to the period when he was in power.

"Nawaz Sharif will visit Srinagar to keep the spirit of Lahore Declaration in view for the settlement of all disputes including Jammu and Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
